STH 24 / Forest Home Construction restarting 03.16.26
Greetings from the WIS 24/Forest Home Construction Team,
A public update regarding work resuming on Forest Home will be shared later this week. We are providing this update in advance for transparency and to help you prepare for any questions.
As we approach the spring season, work on the WIS 24/Forest Home Avenue improvement project will resume shortly. Construction preparation work will begin along Forest Home during the week of March 16, with construction activities anticipated to start the week of March 23, weather permitting.
The work between 45th Street and Howard Avenue was substantially complete prior to the winter shutdown, with only minor street lighting and restoration work in the median remaining. During these activities, traffic lanes may experience short-term impacts.
The work between Howard Avenue and Janesville Road will include milling and resurfacing the median lanes and intersections, pavement and storm sewer repairs, guardrail installation, and placement of permanent pavement markings. For the safety of the public and workers, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction within the work zone.
Construction is currently scheduled to be completed in early summer, weather permitting.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support as we work to improve safety, traffic flow, and the overall driving experience along Forest Home Avenue. If you have any concerns regarding your property or questions about the project, please contact the communications team listed below.
